The Agrifood Campus of International Excellence ceiA3 participates in Vienna in the kick-off meeting of the H2020 BLOOM Project

The Agrifood Campus of International Excellence ceiA3 takes part in the successful partnership BLOOM Project (Boosting European citizens knowLedge and awareness of biOeconOMy research and innovation). This Consortium involves 12 partners from different European Countries.

The BLOOM kick-off meeting was developed in the Centre for Social Innovation in Vienna, the days 14th and 15th of December. During the meeting, the partners exposed the details of every work package of the project.

The main objective of this project is to establish open and informed dialogues, co-created by European citizens, the civil society, bioeconomy innovation networks, local research centers, and business and industry stakeholders. Several levels of government including the European Commission are also involved in these actions.

BLOOM will elaborate five hubs (communities of practice) that will allow an iterative process that involves all stakeholders through various cycles of value development, enabling cross-fertilization and idea generation through shared knowledge and experiences.

These five hubs will be located in Spain, Austria-Germany, Poland, Sweden-Finland and The Netherlands. ceiA3 will lead Andalusian hub and will promote communication, Knowledge and transfer activities regarding bioeconomy.

The Agrifood Campus of International Excellence ceiA3 will build an online platform and a repository to share experiences. It will also provide bioeconomy information.

The strategy is based in the ceiA3 field of Bioeconomy. The Campus has been selected a member within Management Committee of the Spanish Observatory of Bioeconomy.

Spain, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Belgium takes part in BLOOM partnership. The leader of this Consortium is the Austrian Zentrum für Soziale Innovation GmbH.

The budget for the project is 2.400.000 € and it is supported by European Commission in Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, 2 challenge societal challenge 2 Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy 2017. BLOOM project will be developed for 36 months.
