ceiA3 intensifies its synergies around European Farming Digitalisation

This week the Campus attended the final conference of the Smart AKIS project H2020 about smart farming, held in Brussels. The operational groups named DOSAOLIVAR and Deja Tu Huella, coordinated by ceiA3, will include two of their technologies in the Smart Farming Platform promoted by this project.

The Agrifood Campus of International Excellence ceiA3 has attended in Brussels the final conference 'The Future of Farming in Europe: Smart Farming Leads The Way' of this H2020 Smart AKIS Project, where the relevance of European Farming Digitalisation has been highlighted as the main instrument of "evolution" and "revolution" in the sector.

Some of the highlighted aspects of the day were focused on the importance of the transfer to farmers and main actors involved in the process and, the need of mechanization (sensorization, monotorization, etc.) in the fieldwork for collection and analysis of data.

Operational Group Technologies

The Campus, aligned with EIP-AGRI (European Association for Innovation in Productive and Sustainable Agriculture) objectives, is currently working with the Smart AKI project partners to include the technologies that are being developed by the campus operational groups projects named DOSAOLIVAR and Deja Tu Huella, in the International Smart farming Platform. This platform offers solutions or potentially useful technological products for actors of the agri-food sector in the EU and which includes farmers, researchers, agronomists or legislators.

The main objective is to facilitate the use of technologies in the agri-food sector to help identify problems and provide Smart Farming solutions quickly, thus covering the needs of farmers. This network is supported by the European Commission and the EIP-Agri.

Deja Tu Huella aims to develop a device that allows the connection between winemakers and wine consumers through technologies and the ecological footprint monotorization.

For its part, 'DOSAOLIVAR dosage of phytosanitary products in olive groves' consists of designing this digital tool, which enables planning most effective phytosanitary treatment in olive groves, both from a technical, environmental and energy point of view and capable of mitigating emissions that affect climate change .

Both the projects of operational groups and Smart AKIS are initiatives aligned with the Eip-Agri, so the interrelation of each other is vital to achieve more ambitious objectives in the international field of smart agriculture and precision.
