The ceiA3’s proposals focus on bioeconomy, livestock and smart agriculture at the Researchers’ Night of Almeria and Cordoba

Research groups attached to the ceiA3 presented projects related to circular bioeconomy, waste recovery, cattle and smart agriculture during the European Researchers’ Night, which was held simultaneously in the 8 Andalusian provinces and more than 250 cities around Europe last September 28th

In Almeria, the researcher Francisco Egea of the group FQM-170 ‘Analytical chemistry of pollutants’ spread what circular bioeconomy consists of and how it affects many aspects of our lives. His participation took place within the framework of the H2020 BLOOM project (Boosting European citizens knowLedge and awareness of biOeconomy research and innovation), in whose consortium the ceiA3 is part together with partners from Austria, Poland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Finland and Sweden.

In Cordoba, research groups attached to the ceiA3 played an active role in the Feria de los Ingenios. Scientists of the group AGR-126 ‘Technology and Mechanization in olive groves’ addressed issues related to smart agriculture and projects of regional operational groups in which ceiA3 is currently working: DOSAOLIVAR (Dosage of Phytosanitary Products in Olive Groves) and CUVrEN (Coverings of Native Species in Olive Groves).

There was also a space dedicated to livestock and the project of the operational group InnoTuber (New measures and techniques for the control of bovine tuberculosis in Andalusia). This area counted on the presence of research groups AGR-149 ‘Infectious Diseases’, AGR-137 ‘Animal Pathological Anatomy’ and AGR-256 ‘Animal Health: Diagnosis and Disease Control’.

In the framework of the project of the operational group SUBPGAN (Bioeconomy for the recovery of livestock by-products), the group SEJ-592 ‘The Water, Environmental and Agricultural Resources Economics’ participated in a scientific talk within the space Bocados de Ciencia.

The European Researchers' Night is a scientific dissemination project coordinated in Andalusia by Fundacion Descubre and promoted by the European Commission within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions of the Horizon 2020 program.
