More than twenty researchers from the Agrifood Campus of International Excellence participate in the second edition of the Andalusian "Researchers' Night" next September 27th, an event coordinated by the Foundation “Descubre” and promoted by the European Commission under the title “Researchers' Night. “
At the same time, in Córdoba, Jaén, Almería, Cádiz and Huelva, research teams will host in a round of small meetings citizens who have asked for the results of their work. In addition, parallel events will be celebrated in Córdoba, such as the “Feria de los Ingenieros”.

People interested in participating must register at http://lanochedelosinvestigadores.fundaciondescubre.es/
The Researchers' Night is a European project of scientific dissemination Programme framed into the the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union PEOPLE, which takes place simultaneously in over 200 European cities since 2005.
In 2013, this celebration, to be held on September 27th, will be an important event in Andalusia. The foundation “Descubre” heads this Andalusian project, which will cover the eight Andalusian provinces. Its main objective is to bring the researcher's work to citizens to know their work, the benefits that they bring to society and its impact on everyday life, in the context of festive activities and entertainment, whose protagonists are both citizens and researchers.
This meeting aims to highlight the figure of the researcher in society and to take to pieces the stereotype of researcher who lives in his own world, with encounters in which researchers share with visitors their hobbies and their work, so that attendees will learn for example, a doctor who writes poems. They will also enjoy the music with a music performance of a group of scientists and participate in a scientific and historical tourist route.
The last year edition included the participation of 320 cities from 32 European countries with the aim of bringing science and researchers to the general public, to demonstrate in a practical and playful way the relationship between research and daily life, and to disseminate the scientific studies among young people.
The meeting will begin at the same time at each province, holding encounters with researchers. These groups will be able to meet up in a close and relaxed atmosphere. Thus, this activity will bring together the Andalusian researchers to the general public to introduce themselves, talk about them and their research in relaxed conversations in which the exchange of questions will be continuous. Away from their image of inaccessible people, experts will chat about their hobbies, their day to day and their scientific work in small meetings where participants will talk with a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
